Andy Griffith remembered here for music

I posted about the music on The Andy Griffith show once before and while most of it had a bluegrass flavor, not all of it was bluegrass. Once in a while the songs were real old time but jazzed up just a tad with a little bluegrass flavor. Rather than quibble about technicalities, I chose to remember Andy Griffith as a nice man who brought some Old Timey sensibilities and music to America's living rooms. For a lot of people this was their first introduction to hillbilly music of a real kind and not that "Nashville Sound" stuff. Andy grew up in the real appalacians small town world and certainly was not a phoney. At least in as much as we can know any actor or celebrity. I will miss him but his show remains and the music he showcased. Dang it all, but he done good! I would like to think he's up with the Lord now just a waitin for us to knock on that day so he can hollar out, "Ya'll come on in, take your shoes off and stay a spell".
